We use a specially
designed packaging process to ensure that your surround or mantel
arrives in good shape, ready for installation. It costs a bit
more for us to do it this way, but we've found the results well
worth it. Continue reading below for a full explanation of the
process stages.

Parts
This is a picture of the parts associated with the Builder
Kit Prestige surround. All of our surrounds are packaged
in the same manner and our mantel shelves are packaged in the
same way, but since their are no columns associated with those
products we can ship in one box rather than two.
Box One
Each mantel surround is shipped in two separate boxes with the
parts supported on compression-resistant high-grade styrofoam
and strapped in plastic. This box contains the mantel shelf base
wrap, crown molding, and decorative pieces.
Box Two
The second box contains the surround legs and the faceplate,
again set on high density styrofoam and wrapped in plastic to stabilize the
pieces and to prevent movement.
Plastic Liner
The surround pieces are shrouded in protective plastic and we
fill the bottom spaces of the box with a special high density spray
foam.
High-Density Foam
The final stage of our unique packaging process is to fill the
top space of the boxes with industrial-strength high density foam that expands
to fill the space inside the box and which provides protection from
the normal hazards of FedEx ground shipping. Admittedly, some
think we go overboard on the packaging and it can be a workout
removing the surround from the box—but we think you'll appreciate
the fact that your surround is delivered in perfect condition.
